Alistair Clark, has a passion for neuro rehabilitation, which is designed for people with diseases, injury, or disorders of the nervous system. Neurological rehab can often improve function, reduce symptoms, and improve the well-being of the patient.
Here at at Southern Riverina Physiotherapy we focus on the client’s goals and work with the client to identify how Physio can help them achieve their desired outcomes.
Common Neurological conditions we treat are:
- Stroke, TIA.
- Parkinson’s
- Cerebral palsy
- Acquired brain injury
- Multiple Sclerosis
This is achieved by using the International classification of functioning, disability, and health (also known as the ICF model). It is imperative that a comprehensive assessment is performed at this stage to identify bodily impairments, activity limitations (ie. sitting to standing) and at the participation level how these may affect your ability to ‘participate’ within the community.
Below is a schematic on how the ICF model interacts with each individual domain.
